You might hear about some of the larger companies pushing their technicians to test 500 items a day. Let’s be honest — that’s just not realistic. To hit those numbers, they’d have to rush through your office, sticking labels on everything they see without properly checking each item.
That’s not how we do things. Sure, we have targets — every business does — but ours are sensible and based on the time it actually takes to do a thorough, safe job. On average, we aim to test around 150 to 200 items per day, depending on the location and setup. That’s a realistic and responsible workload, and it’s what you should expect from any professional PAT tester.
So when you’re comparing quotes, take a moment to think about what’s behind the numbers. If someone’s offering to do it for half the price, ask yourself: can they really provide the same level of care and quality?

Fixed Rate
For small numbers of items we offer a simple fixed price service. This includes our call-out fee (within 30 mins of our base), testing of up to 15 items, any standard repairs that are required, fully itemised test report, and same-day digital test certificate.

Additional items are charged per item tested at the following rates:
- 16-99 items - £2.75 per item
- 100-199 items - £2.35 per item
- 200+ items - £2.00 per item
